Useful local-first AI knowledge assistant, but still early and platform-limited
What works well is the private knowledge workflow. Instead of saving everything manually in scattered apps, users can capture information, organize it with AI, highlight notes, connect sources, and ask questions later. This makes it useful for research, content planning, studying, meeting notes, and personal knowledge management. The main weakness is maturity and access. remio is still a newer tool, public review proof is limited, and some features like device sync are marked as upcoming. It is also not ideal for users who want a simple cloud note app, because the best value comes from using its local-first desktop workflow. Overall, remio is a promising AI second-brain tool for people who collect lots of information and want private AI search across their own files and web captures. It is best for serious knowledge workers, not casual users who only need basic notes.
